Intimacy
An experiential workshop for gay/bi men sponsored by the Men's Program and their ongoing "Connecting Group" for gay and bisexual men.
Participate in an evening with Lee Faver, local psychologist, designed to help gay men enrich deepen emotional intimacy with other men. People will discuss their own experiences, identify personal barriers and create possibilities for closeness with the man or men in our lives.
We'll focus on our interactions with one another over the course of the night. Tolerating vulnerability and our personal fears may be the most significant barrier to intimacy. Lee will encourage us to take responsibility for the (sometimes conflicting) things we want with and from another man. And we’ll be invited and coached to experiment with the types of interactions we imagine and desire along the way to creating them in our daily lives.
Lee draws on two decades of experience participating in our community, working with GLBT people and couples, and a 19 year relationship with his own partner to support other men’s personal and relational growth. As a therapist, he helps people accept themselves, appreciate their pasts and act effectively their lives.
Please join us on Tuesday May 19th from 7-9:30 (this includes time for program feedback).
The evening is experiential and participatory, and not a lecture or didactic presentation.
Space is limited, so please contact Howie at 802.254.4444 x107 to reserve and for location if you're not familiar with the Menspace in Brattleboro.
